SC1/BW units in SC2 a la Mass Recall and this campaign is interesting. Are the stats the same? If so I'd guess the improved pathing and collision in SC2 gives some units a massive buff an others a nerf. Goons and reavers are the most obvious unit to me that would just completely shine. You can kite other T1 units reliably with goons, with a solid ranged attack, and they have high health. Scarabs with sane pathing are monstrous. Lings are probably nerfed because they'd pack tighter together so AOE would do a better job wiping them. Goliaths would probably benefit. Tanks probably get worse because other units would behave normally around ramps and chokes instead of doing bizarre dance moves and failing IQ tests. Also, having watched a lot of your SC/BW content recently, SC2 just seems a little.. off-putting? It's like it's a little /too/ smooth and polished. Armies behave more like liquids than solids if that makes any sense, all the units just flow around each other like they're greased up on Teflon. I wonder if there are mods to SC2 that make unit collision and pathing a bit "blocker" to bring back some of the retro feel. That blockiness makes each brood war unit feel more impactful - each one takes up a bit more space, blocks other units a bit more, and that makes its movement and pathing more important to the outcome of a fight.

I agree with you Jay, it wasn't very clear. Only reds is explicitely designed as the aggressive one, while in comparison the two others sound like they are going to hide behind their walls. And of course the "don't destroy their fortifications" meme while said fortifications are making you eat dirt. Still funny to watch you struggling from time to time :D

Convienient to skip the hardest demon gate. We are playing this on impossible, not skipping anything like you, and the last demon gate is REALLY IMPOSSIBLE. I want to see you do this.

Those of us who expected Illidan to become Chaos Orc sure got hit with a curveball. Edit: 48:37 "Undead survivors" sure is a concept.

The Anti-Magic Potion sounds like it'd be good for an uninterruptible Big Bad Voodoo but that ult is kinda worse than the Shadow Hunter's normal abilities. Edit: 37:00 excuse me Tauren on top of Kodos??? That is something I wasn't expecting. Illidan "I can still read your lips" so I guess in the alternate he's deaf, not blind? He speaks just fine at least. Edit2: to get to that place with Furion you needed to get Treants (the Bear I guess here) on the other side and that would get you a couple Furbolgs and a Portal to get back to the main area. Useful since generally you don't have many units in this part. His new ult is pretty cool even if Tranquility is Tranquility.

Warcraft 3 Alternate is so alternate it swapped into Starcraft! Also the final boss turning into some monstrosity which you then have to beat in a music themed minigame with totally different gameplay mechanics from the rest of the game ... what is this? Drakenguard?

A fitting, and funny, end for the reign of shadows :P Suffice to say, even at this point, whatever xetan has in store next, alternate or otherwise, it will definitely be worth the wait to see and play, and with the unexpected too, as demonstrated thusfar. This hero is so broken theres no need for army

For the exterminatus, there's several kinds - orbital bombing (the most conventional, don't need special stuff to do it) the planet in question, as shown in the mission. There's virus bombing - unleashes life eater virus, which proceeds to eat entire planetworth of everything organic IN minutes, leaving only sludge and gasses, which are ignited via incendiary or laser strike, burning the planet to a crisp(it's survivable if you get to sealed tight air-proof shelter, tho it's doubtful every planet having any). If you got cyclonic torpedo, you drop a few to kill everything quickly, a variant is a two-stage, bores thru to the planet's core and blows it up from within(useful vs airless or necron tomb worlds), and another is a athmospheric incinerator torpedo (one shown killing finally typhon in cutscene, I looked it up specially for you).

Ah, the "run for your lives" map. Was interesting to try it with all the factions. The enemy tyranids shown here wear hive fleet behemoth colors(dark blue armor, red body), it was the first of its kind imperium fights in the lore. The ones we fight against base and chaos rising and as here are of the leviathan, the biggest and mightiest fought still in the lore sofar(purple armor, beige-ish(?) body). There are more ofc, all take names of mythical monsters(kraken, gorgon, jormungandr etc). Eldar got different names for said fleets. Kraken they call "starving dragon", and leviathan "far ranging hunger", it was a plot point in a novel to stop these two combining(something about craftworlds getting eaten if that happens), names stuck. Splitting exterminatus explanation in a separate comment, apologies.

Ah, Typhon Exterminatus. One of the most memorable mission in Dawn od War series.

Fun chaotic mission with everyone running around and attacking everything. Loved that the Leman Russ survived till the end too. Was so worried it would go down at the end.

I love how rocket launchers are reverse mines. Instead of putting them in the front to kill the enemy front line you have to put them in the back to kill their backline.

shar giving the storm troopers anything but melta guns is certainly a move and yeah the last parts script is so weird if you kill the mobs to quickly it takes forever to load in the last bit before the champ spawns in
